OK. We signed contract papers, now we wait for the seller to sign. Once they sign, we get our inspector involved, our bank man, etc...In other words, we start shelling out $$.
Here is the only scary part - now we have to wait for THEIR bank to approve the contract! This is the part of the short sale they say may take a long time - however - the seller's agent felt confident that with our offer and everything, we could close in a relatively short amount of time. OK, so the seller isn't the bank. We are praying. We don't necessarily want to pray for the house, just that if this house is it, as we feel it is at this time in our lives, please pave the way, God, because we are not going to fight with the bank or the seller or pay more than we have available to pay! I am too pregnant to deal with this :)
Well, everything is exciting. We are feeling very good about it all, and I am not even worried about the bank (it's just, you know, a potential threat).
On the up side, it's not like the hubbs and I have other issues to deal with. We don't need to be out of anyplace by a certain time frame - We have excellent credit and stable jobs - sure, we have a baby coming, but we're surrounded by family. It's a good thing.
Still not excited about a MORTGAGE (blah), but in an ironic way, having a house is going to help us pay off other debts, if that makes sense :)
Waiting...... :)
