Aching.... That is my belly right now.
I had the roughest weekend at work I think I have had since working on my unit. Our entire floor is sick city. When I say "sick city," I mean that these people, had they not come to the hospital were probably hours to days away from death's doorstep.
I was at work on Sunday, and really cramping up in my belly. I am too early to go into labor right now, so I had better start taking it easy! I had a laborious assignment, and mentally stressful to boot... It's usually not that bad.
As far as our home buying goes, we have an estimated closing date of December 19th. That is 6 days before Christmas and 12 days after my due date. Well, it's all an estimate. We have some financial papers and right now we're making sure our up front out of pocket costs will still enable us to pay off my car (the only way we will feel comfortable making a house payment every month is if we only have my student loans and a mortgage. No more car payments!) We have our down payment and an agreement to seller assist, but there are still other costs we are not sure of - thus our unexpected out of pocket costs must leave us enough of our "leftover" savings to pay off my car!)
Buying a home is tricky business. I want to see this house again. Brian and I had that "feeling" as soon as we walked into the home. One week ago I wasn't even aware of this home's existence. Now I am in the process of purchasing it. I'm telling you. It's that feeling like when you see that perfect dress, or when that special someone asks you to marry him... You just know it's "right." That, accompanied by prayer and asking God to pave the way (even if it leads away from this home), and I believe we are where we are supposed to be. Still, I want to see this house again. Relive that feeling. We drove by it today just to look at it. The brick needs a little power washing in the front (not obvious, my husband had to point that out. I notice roofs, that's my thing). This house is a 90's home, but it looks like the roof may need servicing in a few years. An inspection will tell me for sure. Some of the shutters could stand to be repainted... There is a willow tree in the back yard that has a downed branch from that freak snowstorm a week ago. Also, this home is close to a fire hall. It's not a very active one, but it couldn't hurt to ask the neighbors about it.
Neighbors. There are four houses in one "cul de sac" area, as this is a very small "lane" off of a small backroad that leads to a main road. lol. We will be a block away from prime horseback riding trails, and a lake (I've grown up around this area. I used to ride my bike all over back here).
Well, if all goes well, it looks like Brian and I might be moving yet AGAIN with a newborn (with my daughter, we were packing up before I went into labor and moved 4 days after she was born)! At least it means a nice tax return next year as well! Ho Ho Ho! I am paying off student loans!
