Davidic Harps

OK, I will take a break from my own life for a moment to put my parents web site out here for any passer by to visit...

What is their website and what do they do???

WELL, my parents are harp makers! Yes, harp makers. This is a new adventure for them.

Backstory:

My mom has always been a music machine. It's innate. No matter what she picks up and decides to play, she does it well (with an affinity for the string and woodwind instruments in particular). A few years ago, she picked up the harp, and learned to play from a friend who is a professional harpist. Last fall, she attended a school in Israel where she played with professional harpists from around the world, in the Holy Land. This was a great experience for her to acquire all sorts of contacts and new friends as well.

WELL, while mom was in Israel, my dad stayed behind at the house. He is a retired RN and military Vietnam veteran who has no musical ear whatsoever, but is quite the craftsman. While he was home and ma was away in Israel, dad received a word from somebody he didn't know and never met in church who told him God was going to use his hands to "make" music. Pretty cool, eh?

By the time mom got back from her trip, and before my dad mentioned his word, ma said to him, "Karl, I feel like this is something we should be doing" (harp making).

SO, my musically talented mother, and my tone deaf but skilled craftsman father teamed up to create one of the coolest harps you could ever get your hands on!

It's a 10 string "Davidic" harp, and what is so awesome about this harp is that it is not only made by awesome people who pray over each harp, but each harp has sharping levers (for key changes) which most 10 string harps do not have. Also, the harps sound great! I am like my mother in the sense that I also have a musical ear (and I just happen to be the only other person in the family whom she can really play music with, having an affinity for the strings and woodwinds myself. heehee)

All that to say, if you are reading this, check out their website. It's very simple, but if you know anybody who has need or want of a valuable musical instrument, check it out!
